One month after the earthquakes in Venezuela, the FMI brothers continues to walk with the injured people

Dear brothers of the family of the Incarnation,

One month after the terrible earthquakes that affected two of our three parishes in Venezuela, I want to thank you - on behalf of all the IMF brothers in the region and the members of the Fraternities of the Incarnation - for all the support and generosity we have received from each of you. These have been very difficult days, but we have been filled with courage and hope to know that behind us we are sustained by your prayers and thoughts.
Today, hundreds of people are still trying to find their relatives under the rubble. Many of the victims who lost everything have been moved to temporary shelters, waiting to be relocated to other homes. International volunteer delegations are already beginning to withdraw; however, the need remains.

That is why I extend the invitation to all those who wish to come at this time as volunteers to help in the humanitarian and evangelizing mission of our affected communities. They can make this proposal available to members of their parishes, schools and communities who feel they can help in this crisis.

Other congregations have already received volunteers; among us were two Spanish laywomen from the Salesian movements who, after a month of support, will soon leave for their homeland.

For our part, we offer to ensure their maintenance, transportation within the country, accommodation and meals. Volunteers will only have to pay for their own airline tickets. It should be noted that citizens of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada and Bolivia do not require a visa, while citizens of the United States can process their visa online. For interested parties from other countries, we ask that you directly consult the visa process at the corresponding Venezuelan embassies or consulates.
